during the rehearsals, getting the first word of that this afternoon. in a statement to cnn, the nfl said quote, there were some fluctuations in the frequency of the power supply but not in the amount of the power supplied to the building. this again referring to the period of the rehearsals that beyonce was having in the week leading up to the super bowl. the league said there were no mass power outages during the rehearsals. they also said it was because of those power issues during the rehearsal that they decided to have beyonce's team use a completely different power supply from the superdome's grid for the actual halftime show itself. now, we also caught up with doug thornton of the smg group, group that manages the superdome. here's what he had to say about beyonce's rehearsals. >> yes, we had a couple fuses blown, there were a couple circuits that were overloaded, but it had nothing to do with this power outage. it's totally unrelated. >> reporter: thornton says that that sometimes happens when you've got outside show producers coming in who are not familiar with the circuitry

with new developments. cnn has just learned that governor chris christie, a key 2016 republican presidential hopeful, is not invited to the conservative political action conference in washington, d.c. next week. that's according to a source close to cpac, and cpac, if you haven't heard of it, is often considered a must-attend for anybody who wants to win the white house from the gop. senator marco rubio of florida, louisiana governor bobby jindal, former florida governor jeb bush, rand paul of kentucky, rick perry of texas, they're all already on the list. is this a snub for chris christie? this news breaking late this afternoon. how big of a snub is it the. >> it makes a lot of sense for cpac, because frankly, chris christie was not going to show up this year, so why bother asking him and then get snubbed by the governor himself? just do the snubbing yourself and say we don't want you here. it probably would have been a tough environment for him to be in, frankly, given he has really pivoted to the center, some would say to the left, to win in a heavily democratic state. >> i g
